Overview

Dow Jones Sector Indexes include a wide range of broad-market and blue-chip indexes, available at the country, regional and global levels. The sectors are defined by the proprietary classification system used by Dow Jones Indexes which classifies securities at four levels of specificity: 10 broad Industries, 19 Supersectors, 41 Sectors, and at the most granular level, 114 Subsectors. These segments are designed to capture the risk characteristics of a specific market by grouping together constituents that respond in similar ways to economic, political and environmental factors.
